Apple's Weather App Bug
I recently got an Apple iPhone 4, a hand-me-down from a good friend of
mine who upgraded to an iPhone 5. One of the first things I noticed is
this strange bug in the weather app that comes with the iOS 6.
The weather app shows the weather condition of a specified location. In
default mode, it displays the day of the week, a little icon conveying
the weather condition (sunny, cloudy, rainy, etc.) and the day's high
and lows.
One can slide down on the current day, and it will slide open and display
the hourly weather conditions for the day, as shown in the following
two screen-shots:
As you can see these screen-shots have been taken at 6 PM (18:00), so
the expanded view for Saturday, shows the temperature starting at
18:00, then 19:00 (7 PM) and moving forward to 23:00 (11 PM) after
which, the day changes to Sunday, and it continues to display the
temperatures for 0:00 (midnight), 1:00, 2:00 and so on. All this is
as expected and good!
However, after midnight (0:04), when the day switches, in this case from
Saturday to Sunday, the app display this strange behavior (a software
bug!). Instead of continuing to show Sunday 0:00, 1:00, ... it displays
the listing under the Saturday heading:
Note that the date at the bottom of the weather report is in fact
correct, as it changed from "1/26/13" (i.e., Jan. 26th 2013 which
was a Saturday) to "1/27/13" (i.e., Jan. 27th 2013, the Sunday).
