California Bans Homeschooling
So it has begun. The Police State.

So with a new ruling the state of California has become the first state in the Union to ban homeschooling; in effect, telling its residence that the great state of California is better capable of determining what is in the best interest of their children!

On the surface the ruling seems defensible and even understandable, given the fact it started as a welfare case and targeting homeschoolers without teaching credentials.

However, examining statements reiterated by Justice H. Walter Croskey regarding the case and referencing a similar case dating back to 1961 can send serious chills up/down one's spine:

"A primary purpose of the educational system is to train school children in good citizenship, patriotism and loyalty to the state and the nation as a means of protecting the public welfare."


WOW! Somehow the context in which words and phrases such as "purpose ... is to train school children", "patriotism" and "loyalty to the state and the nation" paint a very stark images of mass brainwashing of children -- something akin to Nazi Germany.

I wonder if it is just ironic that California has an Austrian for its Governor or ...
